What does God want from me anyway?

What does God want from me anyway? Any American Christian familiar with mainline denominations will tell you that your sins separate you from God, for He is Holy a Holy God and sin can't be in his presence. And yet, He loved us so much that he sent His son Jesus to die in my place. So I can now be perfect.

Really? Is that really why God sent His son?

To answer my question from the get go... What God wants from me is to believe Him.

God is not asking me to be Perfect. If He were He would be a cruel God indeed. A task master who holds out a reward that can never ever be obtained. A cruel master who puts out food and water in front of someone dying of starvation only to find it's under glass, unavailable.

Jesus died in order to be the negotiator of a New Will. (as in Last will and Testament). He did not die for the reason of making me perfect.

I think I should give you some background of what I'm talking about with a new post.  I'll call it:  Old Will and Testament

Please go read that before reading on. I will wait.
